24 Week Bumpdate

baby is the size of a pomegranate!
baby is the size of a spaghetti squash!
had to include one with Clark!
baby is the size of a grapefruit!
baby is the size of a cantaloupe!
I had my anatomy scan ultrasound last week and it was amazing getting to see all of baby boy's little body parts already developed!!  I got to see his arms, stomach, legs, baby bum and boy parts, tiny feet and toes, hands and fingers, spine, nostrils, lips, one eye, and even inside his brain!  the only thing the ultrasound technician could tell me was that he was sandwiched in half with his legs above his head and he was very active!!!  I knew that already!

baby was caressing his cheek with his little fingers and playing with the umbilical cord.  she said he had pouty little lips and I think she wanted to tell me he was either very tall or very small because she asked how tall Mark was.  Clark has always been in the upper percentile for height so it will be interesting to see if baby brother will follow.

I also pre-registered at the hospital yesterday!  is it really that time again??  I remember being there like it was yesterday.  when I had to sign all the newborn paperwork she added a newborn to my account and I couldn't believe soon we'll have a newborn again.

I've heard the transition from one to two kids is the hardest and I believe it!  especially when they're both basically still babies!  sometimes I wonder what we got ourselves into?  but then I think about how close they'll be growing up and all the adventures we'll go on together and I know it'll be worth it.  I already have our Halloween costume for next year planned out!!  HA.

I'm not sure if I've said but yes we do have a name!  and it's perfect.  I can't wait to meet our next perfect little baby.

Halloween 2017

I've been brainstorming Halloween costumes since the day I found out I was pregnant!!  I was originally planning on waiting to announce until Halloween and then announcing with a fun costume but there's really no way I could hide it the second time around!  the first time around we announced at 15 weeks and that was pushing it!  but I still had so many ideas for cute pregnancy Halloween costumes!  I mean, how often does that happen?!

when I thought of being Winnie-the-Pooh I immediately knew it was PERFECT.  Clark's song is "Pooh Corner" that I've been singing to him since he was in the womb.  I actually sing him a repertoire of Pooh songs every night!  "Pooh Corner," "Winnie-the-Pooh," and "Little Black Rain Cloud".

at first I thought Clark would have to be my best friend Piglet!  but when I started researching Piglet costumes they were all very PINK and I decided I didn't want to make poor Clark have a "Ralphie as a pink bunny" moment.  while I was searching for Piglet costumes, I came across this Hunny jar costume and it was too good!  what's more important to Winnie-the-Pooh than his hunny?!?

that face!! ♥
looking for honey bees...
we went trunk or treating with Clark and he quickly got the hang of it.  I would say "trick or treat," and then Clark would go "ehh!" (his favorite thing to say) and point to the candy."  after they gave him candy he would wave bye!

we let him try a lollipop (they're his favorite!) and a Crunch bar (he's had candy before though, oops) and he got so hyper!!  he was running in circles around the parking lot, chasing the kids around, hahaha.

the weekend before Halloween, we went to a carnival for teenagers with special needs that the youth in our ward were putting on.  Mark's the Young Men's secretary so he was in charge of one of the rooms which we turned into a creepy bowling alley!

Mark as Christopher Robin!

Mark had to stay in the room for most of the night but I sure got a good workout chasing my hunny all over the church!!  there were so many people there and Clark's favorite thing to do was dash into the middle of a crowd, walking in between legs!  this little lost Hunny pot!

I've been getting pretty emotional lately thinking about how in just a few short months, it will no longer be just Clark and I.  my favorite little person in the world.  I won't be able to tell him he's my favorite anymore!!  what if he still is??  I just can't imagine loving another baby as much as I love Clark, does that make me a horrible mother?  I mean, I know I'll love this baby, I just don't know if it will be the same way I love Clark.  then again, before I had Clark, I told Mark I wasn't sure if I could love our baby as much as I love my nieces and nephews.  haha, sounds ridiculous now.  I'm sure the moment I see him, I won't be able to imagine I ever felt this way.

the way he's looking at me... ♥♥♥
it rained on Halloween night and we didn't want Clark to get sick (plus, he already had tons of candy!) so we stayed in and had an epic Halloween family dance party.  it was seriously so much fun.  I love this family of mine more than words can say.  and soon, we will be FOUR.

Clark's first trip to the zoo!

we took Clark to the zoo last month for the first time and he had a blast!!  Clark loves going new places and he loves animals so he was truly in awe.

we went with my good friend Helen and her girls and she snapped some adorable photos.  she goes to the zoo practically every week so she knew her way around and we were able to see so much in just a few hours!  first stop: the aquarium!

Clark was fascinated by the huge fish there, some were bigger than him!  he enjoyed climbing on the rocks around the tanks (I think he was trying to get inside) and loved getting to crawl through this tunnel with the fish swimming all around him.  he makes the cutest little guppy, don't you think?!

after the aquarium, we headed over to the elephants.  they were playing outside together and were so close to us!  I don't remember the first time I ever saw an elephant but I'm sure my face looked something like this...

their ears are bigger than Clark!!!

hi Dumbo!
next we tried to catch a peek at the lions and tigers (and bears, ohh my) but they were all sleeping.  it was hard for Clark to spot any animals that weren't moving because they just blend in.  he did get up close and personal with a gorilla though!

the gorillas might be my favorite...they are just so humanlike and so smart!  the big, strong males are so powerful and intimidating.  I could watch them all day.  and once I saw a mama gorilla throwing her babies on her back and walking around with them and I about died.

Clark's favorite thing to do at the zoo was play in this little Native American playground.  he ran in and out of the tee pee's, banged on the drums, almost got drenched under this waterfall, and was obsessed with the fake fire pit.  he sat in it for a good five minutes, hahah.

the last animals we saw were Clark's favorite...can you guess what they were??

the giraffes!  I think he was amazed at how tall they are!!  we saw them eating leaves off the trees and then one came over to us and Clark just stared at him.

the last thing we did before leaving the zoo was ride the carousel.  it was a first (and maybe a last) for Clark.  he was SO impatient to get on while we waited for the group before us.  like he refused to be held but when I put him down he just tried to run back through the line and was going crazy because we couldn't go in.  then when we got in and picked an animal (a giraffe of course!) he went crazy and threw a tantrum while they were reading out the safety rules.  it was the longest 3 minute announcement of my life!  it probably didn't help he was so tired and ready for a nap.

if you look closely, you can see a tear rolling down his cheek

once it started going though he seemed to enjoy it but halfway through he wanted to switch animals!  this kid I tell ya!  he was the only one crying on that carousel!  then when Grandma yelled at him from the sidelines he turned around and flashed her the biggest smile!  hahaha!

on his second animal!
all in all though, it was a pretty great day!  I bought him a stuffed giraffe to remember his first trip to the zoo.  we will probably be back very soon!!
