Thanksgiving 2015!

We had a wonderful, delicious, family-filled Thanksgiving!  Seeing these pictures is making my mouth water...the food was SO good!!!  Anything Remi makes is always the best I've ever had so Thanksgiving is a real treat.

Don't mind Remi running around the kitchen per usual ;)
Look at those pies! She made six!!
I entertained myself while Mark napped as he always does at family gatherings!  I tell you he sleeps 90% of his life away!!  It's funny because everyone in his family always used to comment to me about how much Mark sleeps and how you can always find him napping or sleeping anywhere and everywhere and it never really hit me until this year that YES, he is ALWAYS napping!  If he isn't working or driving or like at an actual restaurant on a date with me, he can be found as pictured below...

Mark and his naptime friends, HA
Finally I forced Mark to get up and play with me!  Haha, we "played" by grilling some sweet potatoes up for Remi.  We also massaged the kale salad for 30 minutes!!  Remi's cooking tricks...

And finally, a billion hours later (or what felt like it with how the house was smelling!) it was time to eat!

Um, where did she get those pilgrims?!
YUM
The deliciousness on my plate includes dark and white meat turkey, Remi's famous homemade stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, grilled sweet potatoes with an orange pomegranate glaze, string beans, real cranberries, and the BEST hoomemade pumpkin rolls!!!  I may have had 3 of them.  I didn't even have room for dessert!  We had apple pie and homemade whipped cream for breakfast the next two days though, haha!

Even though I will miss the Rawlings' tradition of Eggs Benedict on Christmas morning and all the people crowded into their living room and of course the re-enactment of the Nativity on Christmas Eve, I am SO excited to spend Christmas with my family!  I seriously wish we could live by both parents!  Stephy's making pumpkin cheesecake and my dad's making my favorite sweet potoates (technically they are yams as I learned from the Rawlings clan because they are orange lol) and our tradition of Domino's pizza on Christmas Eve!  Haha, my family is so different than the Rawlings in so many ways but that's why I'm glad I have two families now!  Now here's hoping this Christmas season doesn't fly by in a blink!

A Blue Bayou Anniversary

This year our anniversary fell on a Monday but we still made it magical!  Mark took me to the Blue Bayou for a romantic candlelit dinner.  I loved every minute!  The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was so nice and we felt so happy and in love.  I wish I had taken more pictures but honestly it was so dark in there you wouldn't be able to see us!

That bread!  Mmm fresh hot sourdough rolls and I think the other kind was focaccia.  Both were DELICIOUS!!!  Not to mention I was starving, ha.  But seriously so good!!

There were only like seven things to choose from on the menu but all sounded divine.  Mark ended up getting Beef Brisket with Au Gratin Potatoes, Crispy Shoestring Onions and String beans.  I ordered the Herb-Crusted Rack of Lamb with Rosemary Jus, Goat Cheese Mashed Potatoes and Assorted Vegetables.

We shared as usual and both were in Heaven.  We don't typically eat at fancy restaurants (our go to is Panda Express and Chipotle!) but we always splurge for our anniversary.  Worth every penny!!

Two years with my love and it's been the best two years of my life.  We have so many crazy adventures ahead of us and I'm so happy to share every moment with Mark.  He is my sweetheart and treats me like a Queen.  I am so lucky to call him mine!  I better take advantage while I have him all to myself.  This time next year I may have to share him with another tiny little someone... :)

Anniversary Trip to Vegas!

This year for our anniversary we drove down to Vegas for the weekend!  Mark had never really been other than driving through and even though I wanted to go to Paris we decided Paris in Vegas would have to do for now.  We had such a fun time!  I took so many pictures!!  It felt like we were there forever.  We both agreed Vegas is best done in short intervals...one day is about as much of the smoke, alcohol, gambling, half naked girls, and homeless people we can handle!  Haha, no but really we are definitely out of our element in Vegas!  We just went for the shows and food!

First we checked out the Bellagio, one of my favorite hotels!  Inside is like a museum with all the cool things to see!

His eyes looked all over the room!

Oh look, little Harvest creatures :)

Beautiful glass blown ceiling!

I feel like we should hire a paparazzi to come and follow us around and take candid pictures.  Those are the best!  Where's my mom when you need her?  So we tried to take some selfies...

Look! The Eiffel Tower!
Next stop...Paris for a delicious buffet!!!  My parents highly recommended it and they were right!  Best food ever!!  And it's as close to Paris as I'm going to get anytime soon!

Outside the buffet!
Random little dumpling place!  In Paris?!
The line was about 45 minutes long but so worth the wait!

Inside the buffet!  Looks like Paris at twilight :)
First stop?  Crepes made to order!

Le Jambon & Fromage (Imported Ham, Swiss Cheese, Fresh Basil w/ Bechamel sauce!)  DIVINE!
Let's see...roast chicken, pork tenderloin, quiche, sweet potatoes, veggies, macaroni w/ truffle sauce, mashed potatoes & a roll!
We came for brunch so we started with breakfast and then got lunch!  HA!  And then dessert...my oh my we were stuffed for days!!!

Believe it or not, that's Mark's plate!  Mine was the one with everything on it!!  I asked him why he didn't get more and he said he needed to cleanse his palate with the salad first.  Hahaha

Creme brulee, raspberry cheesecake, apple pie, macaroons, cream puff and a pastry!  Hey I got enough for both of us!
Then I made Mark get me another crepe!  A dessert one this time...

Le Baies - Raspberries, Blueberries & Strawberries, Powdered Sugar & Whipped cream drizzled w/ Raspberry Coulis!
I couldn't even take a bite of that macaroon! Haha!
A man and his cream puff...
After we ate for about three hours we explored more hotels!  The Venetian was our favorite!

Chandeliers for days!

All the gondola rowers sang super loud Italian music!  So awesome!
About to explode from our brunch!

Sissy would have died!
Then we headed back to the hotel to rest up before the show...so much walking!  And we had just done Disney with the Hamzawi's two days before.  I didn't want to get up until tomorrow morning once we laid on the hotel bed but the show was amazing!!!  We saw The Beatles' Love at the Mirage and I had seen it before a long time ago but it was so much better than I remember!

Waiting for the show to start!
Best buds
After the show we were going to get gelato at the Venetian but didn't feel like facing the crowds at night.  So we totally went to Sonic drive-thru!  Haha!  I love Sonic though...one thing we don't have in LA!

Hello New York!
Vegas at night kind of blows my mind!

All in all we had a pretty great trip!  I wonder where we'll go next year?!
